Antonio Nieto-Rodriguez is widely regarded as the world's leading champion of project management and strategy implementation. Harvard Business Review editor Adi Ignatius has described him as "the father of modern project management", and he has twice been named to the Thinkers50 list of the 50 most influential management thinkers in the world.

Originally from Madrid, Antonio has lived and studied in Germany, Mexico, Italy and the United States. He speaks five languages, holds an MBA from London Business School and completed the INSEAD International Directors Programme.

Leadership

Antonio is a Fellow and former global Chairman of the Project Management Institute (PMI), and was the first Spanish member of its global Board of Directors. He created the Brightline Initiative, co-founded the Strategy Implementation Institute, and is the founder of Projects & Co. He has also served as Vice President of the Association for Project Management (APM).

Author and thought leadership

With 35 contributions to Harvard Business Review, more than any other author on the topic, Antonio is the author of The HBR Project Management Handbook (HBR Press, 2021) and the widely read article "The Project Economy Has Arrived". His other books include The Project Revolution, Lead Successful Projects and The Focused Organization, and his most recent book Powered by Projects: Leading Your Organization in the Transformation Age (HBR Press, 2026).

Speaking and teaching

A frequent keynote speaker, Antonio has delivered more than 600 presentations at global events including TEDx, Gartner Summits and the European Business Summit. He teaches at leading business schools such as Hult, Duke CE, IE Business School, Solvay, Vlerick and Skolkovo, and is a LinkedIn Learning instructor and author of the LinkedIn newsletter "Lead Projects Successfully". He has advised more than 80 organisations and trained over 10,000 leaders worldwide.
